Amy Smith

President

Co-owner of Smith Finish Carpentry (with her husband Dusty), Amy is the mother of two children, JDynn and Colter. Amy has also earned her Certified Nursing Assistant Certification from Idaho State University and acts as a contractor for Roundabout Construction in their creative department. Amy’s son Colter was born in 2012, and after experiencing trauma at birth, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, autism and epilepsy. Amy has experienced first hand the challenges and gratification that come from being a special needs parent and has made it her life’s goal to love and support Colter and help remove the stigma associated with raising a special needs child. Her daughter JDynn is an
active student and cheerleader at Bonneville High School and shares her mother’s love and dedication to the special needs community.

Amy grew up in Shelley, Idaho and has always enjoyed helping others and building lasting relationships with her friends and family members. Amy is heavily involved with several community support groups for families of children with special needs beyond Camp Hayden. Serving as a volunteer for the Bonneville School District 93 Special Education Committee, Amy uses her experience as a special needs parent (and member of other support groups) to provide input and guidance to improve the experience of children with special needs throughout the school district. In addition to acting as The Secretary for Camp Hayden, Amy also creates T-Shirts, hoodies and other memorabilia for Camp Hayden including shirts for our campers, volunteers and donors. She is one of the primary stakeholders when it comes to the planning and execution of all Camp Hayden events and activities.
