Matt Janz

Marketing Director

Former Marketing Executive turned serial entrepreneur, Matt provides Marketing, Public Relations, Communications and Business Function Support for Camp Hayden. After a terrible accident when Matt was young, his brother Eric Jantz was confined to a wheelchair and was considered a paraplegic, but was unable to use his fingers. Eric was an athlete and musician before his accident, so after his accident, he figured out that he could still play the guitar by changing his technique and creating some special equipment. His older brother was an inspiration, as he overcame his disability and became a singer, songwriter, guitarist, bassist, recording engineer and producer in the Boise Valley. Eric was the first to show Matt the spirit to overcome adversity, which lives at the heart of Camp Hayden and drives its mission. Matt grew up in Idaho Falls and was heavily involved in sports, academic endeavors and volunteerism from an early age, thanks to his father Al Jantz.

After moving to Boise in 2004 to attend Boise State University, Matt has served in Sales/Marketing Roles for large organizations like Albertsons Companies and Jacksons Food Stores, as well as startups like Mobile Data Force and most recently Global CBD. Matt is a musician and inventor, and started his first company CajonAlone (please hyperlink to www.CajonAlone.com) in 2018. The CajonAlone is a musical instrument accessory that allows musicians to play the drums with their feet, freeing up their hands to play other instruments and enhance one-man-band or small setup musical acts. His most recent startup is called IdahOr Hemp (please hyperlink to www.idahor.com, it isn’t live yet but will be soon) which produces hemp animal bedding, garden mulch and construction supplies from the stalk of the hemp plant. Matt thrives on keeping a full schedule and loves to help those in need.
